About Us
Made for students
-By students.
We are both current third year students who recently started seeing their first patients after two very academically challenging years of optometry school. Naturally, it was not the smoothest of transitions - remembering everything from the first two years while simultaneously trying to be efficient and perform procedures correctly was tough. The hardest part of it all - presenting your case to your attending when your mind is racing between patient history, exam data, and low self-esteem that may come with just starting out.
Julianna purchased a clinic notebook in an attempt to get more organized and efficient, but there was one huge problem - it was not for optometrists. There were notebooks for medical students, nurses, dentists, and so on, but NOTHING for optometrists. When she complained to her classmate, Shawn - author of “How to Get Into Optometry School” - he simply suggested, “why don’t we just make one”?
And here we are. We use the Optometry Clinic Notebook for shadowing, scribing, and seeing patients and we loved it so much we decided to provide it to fellow optometry students who may enjoy it too.
And we hope to provide you with more tools to ease the transition to clinic in the future. Stay tuned for what we come up with next!
Being a student is hard. We are here to help you.
We just went through it. We get you.
