About Us

Made for students

-By students.

Shawn and Julianna are both practicing optometrists that created OPTOPALS together while in optometry school. In second year, Julianna and Shawn started seeing patients and - naturally - it was not the smoothest of transitions from the classroom. Remembering everything from the first two years while trying to be efficient was tough. The hardest part of all - presenting to your attending while your mind is racing between patient history, exam data, and low self-esteem that is normal with just starting to see patients for the first time.

Julianna brought a notebook with her to try to get more organized, but there was a huge problem: it was not for optometrists. There were notebooks for nurses, dentists, internal medicine, but NOTHING for optometrists. She went to Shawn’s exam room to complain, who simply suggested, “why don’t we just make one?”.

Three years later, hundreds of Optometry Clinic Notebooks and Clinical Reference Cards have been enjoyed by students all across America and Canada. It helped us while we were shadowing, scribing, and seeing patients and we are so happy that other optometry students are enjoying it, too.

Our latest tool - OD Ready - took OPTOPALS to the next level. Providing practice clinical cases for optometry students looking to prepare for patient encounters and the NBEO, it serves as a budget-friendly took to feel your most OD Ready!

We hope to continue to help optometry students and ease your transition into clinic and patient care. We are here for you.

Being a student is hard. We are here to help you.

We just went through it. We get you.

OPTOPALS, LLC. is dedicated to delivering effective products to improve the efficiency of optometric patient care to students and optometrists across the nation using organized and innovative methods.
